Web development and custom software for Aruba.

Need a business website, a customer portal or software for your daily work? I'm Giancarlo Angela, a developer from Aruba based in the Netherlands. I build websites and custom web apps for Aruban businesses, with eight years of production software experience.

Which language should the site be in?

We choose the site's languages before designing it, based on who needs to read the content.

Papiamento, Dutch, English and Spanish all have a place in Aruba. Your customers and the subject of the site determine which languages it needs.

Attentive Customs Consulting publishes in Dutch for its intended audience. A tourism business may need English, while a service for residents may need Papiamento or several languages.

Each language needs content that someone can keep current. I use separate URLs and language metadata so pages can be linked and found individually.

Give customers a choice of contact methods.

WhatsApp is a common contact route on Aruba. If your customers use it, it should be easy to reach from the site.

A form need not be the only option. We decide which contact methods fit your customers and how you handle enquiries.

Attentive's site includes a form, WhatsApp, phone and an office address. It also states the consultancy's one-business-day response commitment.

Working with someone who is not on the island.

I work remotely from the Netherlands. The time difference with Aruba is five or six hours, depending on the season.

My afternoon overlaps with your morning for calls and reviews. I cannot provide regular on-site support in Aruba, so we discuss that need before taking on the work.

We agree the scope and schedule, review working versions and keep decisions in writing. This is how I worked with Attentive Customs Consulting.

An Aruba website project: Attentive.

attentiveconsultancyaruba.com
The Attentive Consultancy home page, an independent customs consultant's site with a plain-language intro and a contact call to action.

Attentive Customs Consulting needed its first website to explain its customs and import services, including ASYCUDA support, bonded warehouses and restitution requests.

I designed and built the services pages, import-process guide, glossary and FAQ. The owner can update the content through a CMS.

About the name.

I grew up beside the Ayo boulder field in Aruba and named the studio after that place.

Before we start.

Do you offer custom software development for Aruba?

Yes. I build web-based software such as customer portals, dashboards and internal tools for Aruban businesses. We start with the workflow you need to improve, then define the users, features and integrations. If an existing product fits, we discuss that before planning a custom build.

Are you based in Aruba?

I am from Aruba and based in the Netherlands. I take on remote projects for Aruban businesses, including the Attentive website shown here.

Can we work together if you are not on the island?

Yes. We agree a schedule for calls and working reviews, with written decisions between them. My afternoon overlaps with your morning.

Do you work with small local businesses, or only startups?

Both, provided the scope fits my capacity. I work independently and reserve up to 20 hours a week for freelance projects.

What language will you work in?

We can work in English or Dutch, and I speak Papiamento. We discuss the language of the finished site separately, based on your customers.

Can you build the site in Papiamento?

Yes, when it suits your audience and you have reviewed content for it. Papiamento pages get their own URLs and language metadata.

How do we handle payment and contracts across countries?

I invoice in euros by bank transfer. We agree the scope and payment terms in writing before starting. Tell me early about any requirements for your local administration.

Who owns the site and the code?

You own the website, domain and hosting accounts, with access to the code and documentation.

What happens after it launches?

You receive documentation and a CMS walkthrough where applicable. There is no mandatory maintenance contract; later changes are agreed separately.

How long does a site usually take?

The scope, content readiness, feedback and my availability determine the timeline. We agree a realistic delivery date before the project starts.

What does web development or custom software cost?

A small business website is typically €1,500 – €4,000; a small web app €4,000 – €10,000; a focused MVP €5,000 – €12,000. Technical advice is €70/hour. These are Ayo’s indicative EUR prices excluding VAT, for the limited scopes above. Your quote specifies the work, separate costs and schedule.

Tell me about your project.

Tell me what you're working on. I'll tell you how I'd build it, what it would take, and whether I'm the right person for it. No obligation.
